Oh man, for sure. I'm sure they had playgrounds then, right? With safety woodchips and rubber-coated equipment?

I once had a bowl of my dad's super thick chicken soup/stew break a bowl in half while it was being microwaved. It was a clean, smooth, perfect break -- except for one little chip of glass that I couldn't account for.

The soup was too damned good to throw away, so I pushed the two halves of the bowl back together and transferred the contents to another bowl (yes, it was that thick), and proceeded to eat very, very carefully. And I did indeed find the bit of glass, safely set it to the side, and continued my meal in peace.

umm...crap! a giant inflatable dragon?! freakin awesome. y'know...back when we were their age...we didnt have any inflatables, we just had a cannon...that eventually got us sued...

also, having just gone to the carroll game on friday, I have to commend you for capturing the cacophony of sounds and activity that is high school football. It really is a chaotic, crazy thing. You captured it much better than any of the crappy sideline video you see on the nightly news here.

It certainly wasn't a Burr–Hamilton duel. I can say that much.

Part of the problem is that the moderator is simply too nice. If he or she would cut the candidate off mid-sentence and demand a proper answer, we'd all be better off.

The thing that most drives me nuts is afterwards when the networks all go to "the people" and start asking "Who do you think won the debate?" and people give their opinions.

But I'm always left asking "What debate!?" Neither the presidential debate nor the vice-presidential debate involved any actual debating! It's really more of an oratory monologue contest. :p

I'd say it went pretty well. I think I was the most surprised to hear them agree on something... let alone the question they agreed on.
