g(j)unk, gelato and graduation

Iron & Wine – Bird Stealing Bread

I went to a few garage sales this morning; of course, I made a huge mistake. I forgot that whenever I go, they are crap. And they were. It’s amazing how much people think their junk is worth.

This could have been the best (worst?) part of my day. But there is more!

Steve gave me a call, and I ended up going to the Museum of Ancient Treasures downtown with Dave and Cammy. This place was cool! I took some neato photos and video, and I’ll get those posted tomorrow. Needless to say, the highlight of the tour was getting to touch the “poison” ring of Henry the XIII VIII! He would wear it to fend off all the attempted assassinations via food poisoning… he also died of syphilis. So I might have that now. The museum director showed us stuff that people normally don’t get to see, and we had a grand time. After several hours, we tried finding the Gelato Caffe. It was found, in an old movie house, and I had a strawberry sorbetto. Mmmm! But half of the joy was sitting in this 100 year old building, with a very tall ceiling, and a movie screen still in the front. I’ll be going back there very soon.

My brother’s 8th grade graduation was tonight; congratulations Nick! If my post tonight seems a little lackluster, it might be because we finally got DSL tonight. I’m a bit giddy. Tomorrow I’ll be moving the webserver back to my house, and the comments should start working again! I’m excited to hear from you.

P.S. Would you like to see a small photo in every post? Not of me, but of something that sums up my day?
