aspire to inspire.

Yesterday was an inspiration.

Two men made it happen.

First was the man I met while taking photos in Frontier Park. I was looking for some photos of frisbee golf for the paper. The weather was cool, enough for me to wear a sweatshirt (hoorah!). It was that “magic hour,” when the sunlight becoming warmer and lower in the sky, and I was taking quite a few pictures of the park with film and digital.

After about an hour of wandering around, I was getting ready to leave. An older man passed by me, turned around, and started asking about my cameras. I found out that he’s been a professional photographer for 40 years, shooting quite a bit while stationed overseas in Japan. We talked for a good 20 minutes about things, and I left feeling revitalized.

The second inspiration was Kelland Wolf, graphic design editor for the Leader. Production night got over very early, so most of the editors and a few staff members went out for drinks as usual. We celebrated Krista’s 23rd birthday and had a ton of fun. Kelland and I started talking about creativeness, in photography mainly, and I learned quite a bit about his history. I knew he had gone to an art school in England, and that he had worked as a freelance photographer for several travel magazines. His compliments and thoughts were some of the best things I’d heard in a long while.

It’s amazing how things fall into place.

Photos here. I’ve got my mojo back.

P.S. Oh yes, and check out my very good friend Steve’s new demo, Hooray Fair (~3mb). He’s quite the musician, writing and recording the song himself!

P.P.S. you rub your eyes when sleepy; it’s cute.
